SWISH STORY

Launched by former Wales PGA Professional of the Year, Robin Hughes, Swish was created to develop Golf & Fitness for all ages and abilities, both in Wales and beyond. Every year, Swish runs over 3,000 sessions, reaching more than 10,000 participants through a variety of unique and engaging coaching methods. In addition to our coaching services, Swish Store offers premium golf equipment, apparel, and custom fitting.

Swish specializes in individual and group tuition at top facilities like North Wales Golf (St Asaph) and St Melyd Golf Club, with coaching also extending across County and Wales Golf. We’re committed to helping golfers of all levels unlock their potential in a fun, dynamic environment.

After graduating with a BSc in Business Management from Cardiff University in 2012, Robin followed his dream of becoming a professional golfer. By 2015, he turned that dream into reality. His journey took him across the world, from Philadelphia to Miami and Barcelona, where he honed his coaching skills alongside his playing career. Robin’s passion for golf and teaching led him back to North Wales, where he launched a coaching program that helped North Wales Golf Club win Wales Golf Club of the Year in 2019.
In 2019, Robin became a fully qualified PGA Professional and earned a degree in Professional Golf Studies from Birmingham University. His dedication to sport and fitness drove him to become a fully qualified TPI Golf Fitness Instructor, ensuring a holistic approach to improving performance both on and off the course.
Robin Hughes joined North Wales Golf in 2021, continuing his successful career in County and Wales golf. Robin finally has facilities that can cope with all weather, including a driving range, enabling him to push the Coaching Academy to new heights.
By 2022, Swish Store opened its doors, and the North Wales Golf Trackman Range became our permanent home, offering year-round coaching in all weather conditions. This facility, one of the best in the UK, serves as the base for both Swish Academy and Swish Store, where we now offer custom fitting for Ping, Callaway, and PXG.
2023 marked further growth, with Robin coaching golfers from beginners to elite levels. As Swish Store expanded, we became the go-to destination for premium clubs, apparel, and accessories.
In 2024, we were excited to welcome back Matt Pugin, a South African Professional. Robin and Matt first met in 2016 while working together as golf coaches and players at a Nike Academy in Philadelphia, USA. Their shared passion for coaching and playing led to a lasting partnership that has since grown across continents.
Matt moved to the UK in 2020, where he made a significant impact on junior golf by driving successful academies at both North Wales Golf Club and Mold Golf Club. His dedication to developing young talent has helped shape the next generation of golfers in the region.
Additionally, Matt has worked with adult golfers through detailed individual lessons at Foregolf, where he also became an expert in custom fitting. His ability to tailor equipment to suit each player’s needs has made him a go-to specialist for those looking to optimize their performance.
Now, as a full-time member of the Swish Team, Matt will work alongside Robin to grow the Swish Academy, offering cutting-edge coaching and custom fitting services to golfers of all abilities. Together, they bring a wealth of experience and expertise to North Wales Golf, ensuring that every player receives the highest level of care and attention in their journey to improve.
